Description

Ibanez RG8 Electric Guitar (8-String) Black

If you're into that ultra-low-tuned metal from guitarists like Dino Cazares from Fear Factory, then the Ibanez RG8 is for you. It doesn't get much lower than this! Your runs will be limitless, with eight strings at your disposal on this axe's wide five-piece maple/walnut neck. With a basswood body and a pair of IBZ-8 humbuckers with a five-way switch, your RG8 is ready to shake the ground. Don't be afraid to plug in and experiment with different tunings to see just how deep this baby goes.

Explore the World Eight Strings Have to Offer

The feature that stands out the most on the RG8 is the monster tonal range at your fingertips. You can tune your bottom three strings to A/E/A for those one-finger bar chords in a super low tuning. You can also use the factory tuned setting -- F/A#/D#/G#/C#/F#/A#/D# -- which goes even lower. Eight-string guitars haven't been exploited as much as standard six-string axes, so you might even find a tuning that hasn't been used often to really bring a unique sound to your playing. There are many new and seldom-used tuning options for you to explore.

Two IBZ-8 Humbuckers Bring the Tone

Your RG8 comes with a pair of IBZ-8
humbucker pickups. You get a warm and deep tone with well-defined color that stays consistent as you move from higher strings to those lower bass notes at the bottom. There's no mud or unwanted low-mid mess here. And, with a five-way switch, the RG8 offers many tonal possibilities to play and experiment with.

The RG Legacy

The Ibanez RG series continues to remain a name associated with renowned speed demons like Paul Gilbert and Dino Cazares for a reason. The notorious utility of the Wizard II neck makes the comfort and close action of the RG8 hard to surpass in the world of lightning-fast runs. Though the neck is wide to accommodate the extra strings, you'll be surprised just how comfortable a fretboard can be when your fingers touch this one for the first time.

Store Information

Keyboard Corner was established in the late 1970's. The store had fairly modest beginnings, with a small corner shop, selling mainly organs and pianos. Over the decades our product range expanded greatly.

In the mid 90's we opened KC's Rock Shop, (Keyboard Corner's Rock Shop) to give us the ability to specialize in items other than keyboard based instruments. The two shops are now merged into one building with over 250 square metres of showroom.

December 2012 saw the opening of our specialised drum store, at 15 Erica Ave, just a 1 minute walk from the main store. With a great range of electric and acoustic kits, heads, percussion, cymbals, sticks and accessories we are well worth a visit.

We carry a huge range of everything musical and have specialised departments for pianos, keyboards, digital pianos, sheet music, electric guitars, amplifiers, acoustic guitars, bass guitars, classical guitars, PA gear, home recording, microphones, drums and more.

We have become one of the largest musical instrument suppliers in Melbournes suburbs, and have established a reputation of offering the best advice and service, while still offering great value pricing.
