Reach for the ultimate music-making surface that fits in the palm of your hand. The next-generation Lightpad Block features a redesigned surface that offers an even more tactile, responsive, and precise playing experience. On one dynamic surface you can play beats, basslines, chords, and melodies and tie them all together to make amazingly multi-layered songs. On Lightpad Ms tactile surface, you shape sounds and make music with Five Dimensions of Touch (5D Touch) - expression is right at your fingertips, so you can bring any musical idea to life.

The Lightpad Block M is the next generation model of the Lightpad Block. Both models have the same capabilities and software offerings. The key difference is that Lightpad Block M has a brighter, deeper and more sensitive surface featuring 225 microkeywaves, allowing you to play with added precision and expression.

The redesigned interface of the Lightpad M builds on the touch-responsive powers of the original Lightpad Block. Lightpad Ms surface is deeper, softer, and defined by undulating microkeywaves for an even more precise playing experience. It also features enhanced tactile feedback, based on the wave-like surface of ROLI's Seaboard instruments. The 225 microkeywaves of the Lightpad M allow you interact with the surface in a deeper way and gauge each movement more precisely, this is coupled with a new thicker, softer silicone layer that enhances pressure-responsiveness. Finally, the surface of the Lightpad M is 50% brighter than the original Lightpad Block. It features higher-definition colours and a higher contrast display, so you can move more quickly between notes, instruments, and scales.

Both the Lightpad Block and Lightpad Block M come bundled with the same software, including Ableton Live Lite, Equator Player, Strobe2 Player, BLOCKS Dashboard and a three-month Max MSP license. Both Lightpad Blocks also come with ten free NOISE soundpacks the only difference is that Lightpad Block M owners will get an eleventh free soundpack, Bass Quartet, showcasing the new acoustic sound capabilities of NOISE 3.

Store Information

When you shop at Mannys you don’t just get the gear, you get the knowledge and expertise of 25 years of experience as one of Australia’s most influential independent music retailers.

In the beginning…

After managing the Allan’s city store for 10 years, an ambitious Manny Gauci-Seddon decided to open his own music store. He wanted his shop to uphold the values of true support and after-sales service, and to form genuine ongoing relationships with his customer base. The trends of the industry at that time were pointing to more of a disposable, corporate mentality and so in the early years he set out to make a name for himself as a serious independent alternative.

The first store was a funky shop in Smith Street, Collingwood in 1991. By 1998 Manny had outgrown this store and saw the need to focus more on the upcoming computer based recording revolution. He established an address in Johnson St Fitzroy as the arts were booming on the north side of the city. In the same year the opportunity came to acquire a business on Chapel St – the Revolver Music Gallery. With a two store operation Manny was now making the difference he set out to 7 years earlier. The Mannys brand was known for knowledge and service, with the staff greatly sought after for their experience. Unlike the other major players, the focus was not just on sales but also on the process of making music.

When the opportunity came to consolidate into one superstore, the North Fitzroy address seemed perfect for the move. Manny wanted to expand his customer base to include more of the musicians turning to the internet due to the lacklustre service of his competitors. He took the best from both stores and moved his operation to the hub of music and musicians just north of the city.

In November 2016 Mannys was sold to SoundBay Pty Ltd, the operator of Australia’s largest DJ and production retailer, Store DJ. While the essence of Mannys Music will always exist, our mission for Mannys Music moving forward is to ensure that we continue to build the ultimate experience for our customers online or in store. Our sales staff remain knowledgeable, professional musicians first and sales people second. Mannys Music gives you one hub to purchase all of your gear, and if we don’t have it, we’ll try our hardest to get it for you.

Mannys – The best advice you can give a musician.
