Take your video recordings to new levels when you attach the RDE VideoMic R directional on-camera microphone to your video recording device. This professional-grade 1/2-inch condenser shotgun microphone makes your equipment setup more compact when you don't need a separate video camera or microphone as you shoot video outdoors or indoors.

The integrated Rycote Lyre-based shock mounting system isolates the VideoMic capsule and electronics from its all-metal shoe mount, thereby reducing or eliminating any unwanted noise created by the hardware of the equipment. Forget about rumbles, vibrations or knocks when the camera moves quickly or suddenly to capture the action. RDE created the Lyre from a single piece of hard-wearing thermoplastic for a custom fit and superior acoustic suspension versus the traditional elastic setup. The plastic never wears out or sags, so it keeps your microphone in the same position for years after you install it.

The standard shoe mount includes a 3/8-inch thread for easy mounting to a boom pole or stand. A super-cardioid polar pattern turns your camera-mounted microphone into a highly direction audio detection device that focuses on the subject in front of the camera rather than picking up surrounding sounds.

Store Information

When you shop at Mannys you don’t just get the gear, you get the knowledge and expertise of 25 years of experience as one of Australia’s most influential independent music retailers.

In the beginning…

After managing the Allan’s city store for 10 years, an ambitious Manny Gauci-Seddon decided to open his own music store. He wanted his shop to uphold the values of true support and after-sales service, and to form genuine ongoing relationships with his customer base. The trends of the industry at that time were pointing to more of a disposable, corporate mentality and so in the early years he set out to make a name for himself as a serious independent alternative.

The first store was a funky shop in Smith Street, Collingwood in 1991. By 1998 Manny had outgrown this store and saw the need to focus more on the upcoming computer based recording revolution. He established an address in Johnson St Fitzroy as the arts were booming on the north side of the city. In the same year the opportunity came to acquire a business on Chapel St – the Revolver Music Gallery. With a two store operation Manny was now making the difference he set out to 7 years earlier. The Mannys brand was known for knowledge and service, with the staff greatly sought after for their experience. Unlike the other major players, the focus was not just on sales but also on the process of making music.

When the opportunity came to consolidate into one superstore, the North Fitzroy address seemed perfect for the move. Manny wanted to expand his customer base to include more of the musicians turning to the internet due to the lacklustre service of his competitors. He took the best from both stores and moved his operation to the hub of music and musicians just north of the city.

In November 2016 Mannys was sold to SoundBay Pty Ltd, the operator of Australia’s largest DJ and production retailer, Store DJ. While the essence of Mannys Music will always exist, our mission for Mannys Music moving forward is to ensure that we continue to build the ultimate experience for our customers online or in store. Our sales staff remain knowledgeable, professional musicians first and sales people second. Mannys Music gives you one hub to purchase all of your gear, and if we don’t have it, we’ll try our hardest to get it for you.

Mannys – The best advice you can give a musician.
