The LSR308 is a bi-amplified Studio Monitor with magnetically-shielded 8 low frequency transducer and a 1 soft-dome high frequency transducer and image control wave guide. Class-D 56 watt RMS amplifier for LF, and 56 watt RMS amplifier for HF. Balanced XLR and TRS Inputs with detented level control, HF and LF trim controls.
The Image Control Waveguide was developed for JBLs new flagship M2 Master Reference Monitor and with the introduction of the JBL 3 Series, is now included for the first time in an affordable, compact reference monitor.
The patent-pending design of the Image Control Waveguide precisely controls the sound emanating from the speaker in the vertical and horizontal planes ensuring the presentation at the listening position is neutral and accurate.
The 3 Series long-throw woofer and its damped woven composite Neodymium tweeter are designed from the ground up to reproduce the powerful transients and micro dynamics of your mix. These drivers deliver impressive deep bass and smooth high frequency response beyond the range of human hearing.
JBLs Patented Slip Stream low frequency port design works in concert with the woofer to produce deep bass response at all playback levels. The double-flared shape of the port is precisely engineered for greater low-frequency extension and reduced turbulence.

In the beginning…
After managing the Allan’s city store for 10 years, an ambitious Manny Gauci-Seddon decided to open his own music store. He wanted his shop to uphold the values of true support and after-sales service, and to form genuine ongoing relationships with his customer base. The trends of the industry at that time were pointing to more of a disposable, corporate mentality and so in the early years he set out to make a name for himself as a serious independent alternative.
The first store was a funky shop in Smith Street, Collingwood in 1991. By 1998 Manny had outgrown this store and saw the need to focus more on the upcoming computer based recording revolution. He established an address in Johnson St Fitzroy as the arts were booming on the north side of the city. In the same year the opportunity came to acquire a business on Chapel St – the Revolver Music Gallery. With a two store operation Manny was now making the difference he set out to 7 years earlier. The Mannys brand was known for knowledge and service, with the staff greatly sought after for their experience. Unlike the other major players, the focus was not just on sales but also on the process of making music.
When the opportunity came to consolidate into one superstore, the North Fitzroy address seemed perfect for the move. Manny wanted to expand his customer base to include more of the musicians turning to the internet due to the lacklustre service of his competitors. He took the best from both stores and moved his operation to the hub of music and musicians just north of the city.
In November 2016 Mannys was sold to SoundBay Pty Ltd, the operator of Australia’s largest DJ and production retailer, Store DJ. While the essence of Mannys Music will always exist, our mission for Mannys Music moving forward is to ensure that we continue to build the ultimate experience for our customers online or in store. Our sales staff remain knowledgeable, professional musicians first and sales people second.
