All of our secondhand Yamaha pianos are premium Japanese built instruments, so you can be assured of tone and build. We select only the very best models ensuring that you get a quality piano to suit your budget. Every instrument has been thoroughly inspected and setup to ensure that your piano is at best working standard prior to delivery.

Yamaha U3M - 3293056 - 1981

U3M - The Yamaha U3 has been manufactured in Japan since the mid 1950's. The U3M models were built between 1980 and 1983. Over the 50 years plus that Yamaha have been building the U3 model not a lot has changed other than cosmetic differences to the model.

The U3M offers great value to a player who wants a piano with a rich full sound. The height of the U3 is responsible for the rich tone that the model is famous for. The 131cm tall cabinet gives plenty of room for long bass strings, which give a full rich sounding bass register. The sound from the U3M is better than most small grand pianos.

Yamaha use the best of their timbers to build their U3 series professional uprights. The heart of the piano is the solid Sitka spruce soundboard, which is used to amplify the tone of the piano and produce the sound you hear. Using a solid timber for the soundboard rather than a laminated soundboard gives the piano a bigger and fuller sound.

Buying a used professional series Yamaha piano from Keyboard Corner is ideal for students and advanced players alike. For a similar price point to a new entry level piano you are able to purchase a long term instrument that your children will be able to do all of their exams on and then pass it on to their children.

U3's are very popular choice for established musicians or absolute beginners, the cabinets are in good condition but still have a very affordable price point. For under half the price of the equivalent new model you are able to purchase a full height, top of the range professional upright piano with a 10 year warranty.

Store Information

Keyboard Corner was established in the late 1970's. The store had fairly modest beginnings, with a small corner shop, selling mainly organs and pianos. Over the decades our product range expanded greatly.

In the mid 90's we opened KC's Rock Shop, (Keyboard Corner's Rock Shop) to give us the ability to specialize in items other than keyboard based instruments. The two shops are now merged into one building with over 250 square metres of showroom.

December 2012 saw the opening of our specialised drum store, at 15 Erica Ave, just a 1 minute walk from the main store. With a great range of electric and acoustic kits, heads, percussion, cymbals, sticks and accessories we are well worth a visit.

We carry a huge range of everything musical and have specialised departments for pianos, keyboards, digital pianos, sheet music, electric guitars, amplifiers, acoustic guitars, bass guitars, classical guitars, PA gear, home recording, microphones, drums and more.

We have become one of the largest musical instrument suppliers in Melbournes suburbs, and have established a reputation of offering the best advice and service, while still offering great value pricing.
